Chinese Combat UAVs in Demand

According to Chinese sources there is increasing interest of the foreign states (Middle east and African countries especially) in buying Chinese drones including combat ones. The most popular among them is Cai Hong (Rainbow) UAV series. This include such a types like e.g. the armed CH-3 and CH-4 medium-altitude drones.

Today Egypt, Iraq, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are known users of the CH-series. The main reason in that increasing interest is that Chinese manufacturing makes the aircraft affordable and therefore attractive to developing nations' militaries and those seeking affordable, yet expendable, reconnaissance asset – as says Robert Michelson, principal research engineer emeritus at the Georgia Tech Research Institute.
